US Airways has asked the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department to extend for 90 days a temporary liquor license that is set to expire Thursday.
The state is withholding a permanent liquor license until the Tempe-based airline resolves a citation for serving alcohol to an intoxicated person.
In November, a passenger, who fellow fliers said appeared drunk, was involved in a fatal traffic collision near Santa Fe shortly after getting off a US Airways flight.
The accident prompted the state to look at the status of liquor licenses for all airlines flying in and out of New Mexico.
