US Airways Asking For License Back

A Tempe based company is asking for a second chance. US Airways is asking the state of New Mexico to extend its temporary liquor license on flights "to and from" New Mexico. US Airlines now wants a 90 day extension of the license.

Twice has New Mexico cited the airline for accusations of selling liquor to people who were already drunk.

The airline was cited last November after serving liquor to Dana Papst. Papst bought liquor after the flight then drove head-on into a van near Santa Fe, killing himself and five members of a family. Last month, US Airways was cited for allegedly serving an intoxicated man who was later arrested on a drunken driving charge in Albuquerque.

If the license is not extended, the airline will have to stop serving liquor on New Mexico flights as of Thursday.
