Emirates, Qatar airways to Order A380S at Paris Air show

Dubai-based airline Emirates and Qatar Airways are to announce new orders for the Airbus A380 superjumbo at the Paris Air Show this week, with Emirates to take up to 10 additional superjumbos, a company source told AFP on Monday.

The source partially confirmed a report in French newspaper Les Echos on Monday which said that Emirates would reveal an order for eight A380s and 60-100 mid-sized A350s worth about 15 billion dollars (11 billion euros) at catalogue prices.

Emirates is already the biggest single client for the A380 having already placed an order for 43 of the giant airliners, which are set to enter service later this year.

Another French newspaper, La Tribune, reported Monday that Qatar Airways would also announce an order for more A380s. The group has already ordered two.

The airline is also to confirm an order for 80 A350s, initially announced in May, La Tribune said.
