Authorities search for missing aircraft

DANVILLE , Va. – The Danville Register & Bee is reporting that Eugene Jackson of the Civil Air Patrol says the N.C. Wing of the Civil Air Patrol is searching for a missing aircraft in the Caswell County area.

Jackson said the homebuilt Seawind plane had one person on board and was flying from Wilmington. The plane was due at the Danville airport at 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, but never landed.

Civil Air Patrol ground teams and aircraft are searching for the missing plane. The Danville wing is on standby should the North Carolina CAP need assistance.
