GKN Aerospace lands aircraft contract

Honda Aircraft Company Inc. has contracted with an Alabama supplier to provide parts for the company's advanced light jet.

GKN Aerospace of Tallassee has been hired to supply the fuselage structural sub-assembly for HondaJet, which will be produced at a facility built next to their headquarters in Greensboro, N.C.

"We are pleased to be entering into collaboration with some of North America's top aviation industry suppliers, as we continue to focus on developing an innovative aircraft of the absolute highest quality for our customers," said Michimasa Fujino, president and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company, Inc., in a news release.

The Greensboro production facility, which will handle final assembly of structural components and parts, aircraft system assembly and installation, completion of the interior and painting, is scheduled to begin deliveries to customers in 2010.
